Bali, 1 May 2026 – The atmosphere at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua reflected the growing urgency among Indonesia’s HR community in navigating a new era of technological transformation. Around 200 senior HR leaders and business executives gathered for two days at the HR Directors Indonesia Summit 2026 on April 29–30, 2026, to discuss a shared challenge facing organizations today: how to lead HR functions amid rapidly evolving technology.
Carrying the theme “Redefining HR Leadership in a Tech-Driven Age”, the summit served as a strategic platform for HR decision-makers across Indonesia. DataOn participated as a sponsor through its flagship solution, SunFish HR, which became one of the key discussion points throughout the event.

One of the most anticipated sessions came from Frenky Pranata, who delivered a presentation titled “From HR Data to HR Decisions: Making People Analytics Work in Daily HR Operations.” During the session, Frenky emphasized that the main challenge organizations face today is no longer the lack of data, but how to turn that data into consistent and actionable HR decisions in day-to-day operations.
“Successful companies are not the ones with the most data, but the ones that can consistently turn data into everyday decisions.”
— Frenky Pranata, Solution Delivery Director SunFish HR
The session received enthusiastic responses from attendees, with discussions continuing beyond the presentation into networking sessions afterward. The topic of people analytics resonated strongly, as many organizations have already invested heavily in data management, yet HR decision-making often still relies on intuition.
Throughout the two-day event, DataOn’s booth #14 became one of the busiest areas at the summit. HR professionals visited not only to experience live demonstrations of the all-in-one SunFish HR platform — featuring more than 25 modules ranging from HR Core and Payroll to AI-powered features and analytics designed for Southeast Asian businesses — but also to discuss the real HR transformation challenges they encounter within their organizations.
During these conversations, the DataOn team also invited participants to reflect on a question closely aligned with the summit’s broader theme: what leadership capabilities can never be replaced by AI?
Most participants agreed that capabilities such as influence, stakeholder management, mentoring, coaching, and empathetic people management remain fundamentally human. While AI can help HR teams process and present data faster and more accurately, building trust, influencing stakeholders, and shaping organizational culture still require human connection.
Participants also emphasized that HR today is no longer merely an operational function, but a strategic one responsible for building and sustaining company culture. And according to many attendees, culture is something that cannot simply be created through algorithms.
The participation of SunFish HR at the HR Directors Indonesia Summit 2026 reaffirmed DataOn’s commitment not only to delivering HR technology solutions, but also to becoming a strategic partner in driving HR transformation across Indonesia. Amid the rapid rise of AI and automation, DataOn believes the future of HR will continue to require a balance between technology and human touch.
